James LeBlanc is an interdisciplinary artist and instructor working and studying in Orono, Maine (soon to be Pittsburgh, PA). As lead graduate technician at the Innovative Media Research and Commercialization center, he manages professional projects and commissions across the state of Maine. Through his work, he has honed his skills with laser engraving, digital design, projection, woodworking, sculpture, and various forms of installation. For him, art is a tool to understand and come to terms with what it is like to be queer in central Maine.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing from Colby College in 2021 and is pursuing a Masters in Intermedia Studies at the University of Maine, to be completed summer 2025. James is currently researching the psychology of forgetting, the physics of reflectivity, and the history of queer rural art as he crafts his Intermedia thesis exhibition.
